via spiritual direction

Discovering and traversing the trans-rational portions of life and union with God. So much of Christian spirituality in contemporary American practices gets stuck in the rational and intellectual portions of the faith practice.  In Spiritual Direction, we’re most interested in the trans-rational space with God.

What space?

The things that simply don’t make sense sometimes; the spaces that go beyond our cognition and our knowing, like: being alive, death, love, truth, grief, deconstruction, identity, union, etc.

What does direction cover?

Identity (in all it's facets and nuance) in Christ or in union with God

Functional Image of God (what we live out of), versus Traditional, Scriptural, Experiential Image of God

Family of Origin Wounding/Processing

Spiritual/Religious Abuse

Religious Deconstruction/Reconstruction

Life Transition

Spiritual Practices and Disciplines

VIA COUNSELING

DISCOVERING AND TRAVERSING THE MENTAL + EMOTIONAL SPACES OF BEING HUMAN.  GET A GUIDE OR ADVOCATE FOR YOUR MENTAL + EMOTIONAL WELLBEING.  SO MUCH OF DAILY HUMAN LIFE WEARS ON OUR PSYCHE AND EMOTIONAL SELVES.  MOVE TOWARD HEALING AND WHOLE-PERSON WELLBEING THROUGH COUNSELING.

It's therapy

While Spiritual Direction is spirit and soul focused, the counseling space focuses on the mental and emotional pieces of our lives and being.  The counseling session is space for the client to dive into the wounds, stressors, or difficulties that lay just under the surface of our daily lives.  Though these things lay under the surface, they often fuel our reactions, responses, mood, and view of ourselves.  Counseling creates space for us to commune with ourselves... diving into discovery, coping, and healing.
