GOOD TO KNOW:

The counseling relationship is a real relationship. It is a professional relationship but it is still a real relationship in which the counselee is able to work on and process through the relationships in their life. Counseling is a place in which real change can be obtained through a facilitated process. Counseling is for anyone trying to obtain a goal but encountering a barrier that seems insurmountable. Whether you are encountering barriers in your relationships, emotionally, behaviorally, psychologically, or spiritually know that it is okay to need help and counseling might be the help you need.

CONFIDENTIALITY

Counseling is 100% confidential within legal limitations. Though, the counselee may share the experience as he/she wishes.

RECORDS

Session notes are kept of each session as legally required and kept secure. You may request copies of these notes at any time for your own information or request your notes be shared with another professional or agency.

TIME

The counseling session is typically 45 to 50 minutes. During the beginning of counseling, we recommend meeting weekly but the frequency can always be arranged differently.

FEES

The rate for each session is $150, which the counselee is expected to pay at each session.

WHAT COUNSELING IS NOT:

NOT PSYCHIATRY

The counselor is not a psychiatrist, meaning no prescriptions for medications are administered. From time to time, the counselor may request your consent to consult with your doctor. The counselor can also provide education about psychopharmacology and may recommend a psychiatric evaluation.

NOT SPIRITUAL DIRECTION

We at FODR believe highly in the process of spiritual direction and although the counseling process may involve spiritual discussion and growth, the counselor is not trained in nor equipped for formal spiritual direction and will not venture into these realms with counselees.  If your desire is for formal spiritual direction, click here.

WHAT TO EXPECT OF JESSE:

SUPERVISION

I am under the supervision of a licensed psychologist as required legally and ethically. I meet with my supervisor at least monthly to consult about the individuals I am counseling. The counselee’s identity is shared during supervision sessions as permitted by law and remains confidential by the supervisor.

RESPONSIBILITY

The counselor is responsible for facilitating a space in which the counselee seeks to progress toward their individually identified goals. Sometimes the counseling process is frustrating, difficult, and even painful, but this is part of the process of change. We will regularly evaluate the progress you are making toward your goals.

TERMINATION

At some point in the counseling process, our time together will come to an end. The hope is that termination is achieved when you reach the goals you set at the onset of counseling. However, termination might also be achieved at your own free choice. The counselor might also determine that the counseling process is no longer benefiting the counselee and terminate the professional relationship.

jesse huebner

Jesse Huebner is a Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate and believes there are often times in everyone’s life that a difficulty is encountered, yet many never seek professional help to work through these difficulties. Counseling can support you and help you overcome the difficulties in your life far more effectively than on your own.

The counseling process looks different for everyone. Some individuals may only need a few sessions while others may be in therapy for more than year. That is why Jesse utilizes an integrated approach of research based therapy techniques. Jesse primarily specializes in Solution Focused Brief Therapy, which typically consistent of three to eight sessions. Jesse also utilizes Trauma Informed Care and Person Centered approaches. For longer periods of counseling, Jesse will draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy. In all of these techniques, Jesse’s theoretical orientation is modeled on a Gestalt perspective.
